What does the CC stand for?

Many people ask us about the CC in CC Orchards.  Originally, it was just Ciaramella & Ciaramella – aka:  Trish & Joe.

We have to admit though, that we have received many guesses and suggestions from friends and family over the years.  The list has now grown to include:

  • Ciaramella & Ciaramella
    • Ciaramella Cherries
    • Crazy Calgarians
    • Colossal Cherries
    • Crazy about Cherries
    • Character & Creativity
    • Canadian Cherries
    • Charmed Cherries

If you’ve got some of your own ideas you’d like to share, just drop us a line.

Balsamic Pickled Cherries

The Balsamic vinegar from these Pickled Sweet Cherries takes on a sweet cherry flavor and makes a tasty vinaigrette to drizzle over grilled pork tenderloin or a fresh garden salad.  The cherries are perfect for snacking, eating in a salad, piled on top of brined & grilled pork chops or over a toasted baguette slice topped with goat cheese (my favorite!).

Buy them ready made or try pickling them yourself with some fresh cherries.

Okanagan Noir Chocolate Sozzled Cherry Cookies

This delicious recipe was created by Naramata blogger and Food & Wine Trails writer Elaine Davidson. It was inspired after a taste of the brand new line of artisan chocolate being created at Okanagan College’s Pastry and Culinary Arts Program!   Featured as well in the recipe are our own CC Orchards Dried Cherries.

Give it a try.  I’m sure you’ll love the cookies.

Cherry Hazelnut Biscotti

Biscotti are twice-baked cookies (or biscuits) originating in the Italian city of Prato. The biscuits are oblong-shaped, made dry and crunchy by cutting the loaf of dough while still hot and fresh from the first oven baking.

Created originally to survive long sea voyages with minimal spoilage by virtue of their low moisture content, eating them is usually associated with dunking them in espresso coffee.  Whether you eat them As Is, dunk them in coffee, milk or wine, just enjoy.
